Skimret is a solo project directed by Aleksandar Buntic. In Spring he released the debut EP with the same name; a 6 track long personal blend of electronica, pop and other influences, into something he calls dreamy synth pop. Each song is named after an important person in his life, exept the starting track “Längtan”, (“Longing”). And longing is a good word to start with when I try to describe the album, together with romantic, in a darkly shimmering, dreamy sense on this quite varied album. Gustav Haggren and his Case Conrad haven’t released anything since the last album “Dew Point” in 2010. It’s seems as they are finally on their way now with a new album, though, and here are a couple of lovely tracks: the studio recorded “LONELYLIGHTLYLOWSHINE” and a live take of the song “Copper Thief” from Barcelona in Summer.
Here’s a single from Veronica Keding, “Kärlekens farkost”, a house-inspired pop song in Swedish. What caught me the most in the song was the catchy intro synth figure which comes back in the song later and adds a lot of colour.
The duo Wan Light, hailing from Stockholm, released their third album “Space Canaries” in Spring, almost 8 years since the last album “Carmaline”. They present a dreamy indie pop where acoustic guitars get along with synths, beats with drums and retro vibes from the eighties with more modern indie and electronica vibes. There’s plenty of smooth melodies among the 11 tracks; here are two of them:
