It’s been a few years since we wrote about the band Fröken Underbar last time. Now they’re back with a new single and music video, “Ah ah ah” a happy catchy pop song with a breath of the sixties. The video was filmed in Roy Andersson’s Studio 24 and was directed by Australian Oscar Molinari. While I’m at it I’ll also add a live session from Spring where the band performs the song “Rakt ner i helvetet”.
Johan Klingwall released his second single in May. It’s called “Upp till himlen” and we recognise his style with rap, uptempo and good, catchy pop melodies from the first single “En vacker dag“. Listen here:
Slim Loris released their second full length album “Future Echoes and Past Replays” in Spring. It’s first of all an Americana-inspired album, but where they pour influences from pop and rock to a varying extent into the mix. In the end it comes out as a shifting, interesting record with everything from earthy, melancholic folk to beautiful country pop to more dramatic pop, most of the time with a basic acoustic vibe to the sound. Here are a couple of songs.
“Radioaktivitet” is a new single from Emil Jensen which was released today. In the song you can also hear Klara Söderberg from First Aid Kit. It’s a desolately beatiful song, rich in contrasts, and which has been released in two versions: a duet version with strings and acoustic guitar, and another version with drums and organ, like two sides of a coin. The song is taken from the upcoming album “I det nya landet” scheduled for release October 2nd.
