Nilson – “Blessed”

Nilson

When Bosse Nilsson has some time over from leading the Landskrona-based record label Melody, producing other artists or playing with the band Prebens Pågar he heads out on his own under the name Nilson. His next album is scheduled for release in Spring and this Autumn he has released a couple singles as a first taste, the title track “Blessed” and “A Lullaby”. It’s a harmonic artist we meet who has settled in a low keyed and laidback mood in these soft rock ballads that come with plenty of country vibes.  Taste the two songs here below.

Magnus Bergman – “JR & Sue Ellen”

Magnus Bergman

There’s plenty of country vibes in Magnus Bergman’s latest song creation “JR & Sue Ellen”. And I guess it’s an obligation if you’re singing about the Dallas couple, in whose fate Magnus obviously finds some wisdom of life. This is the song you should listen to when life doesn’t exactly runs like a clockwork and the best thing you can do is to lean back and laugh at the misfortunes.

Zebastian Swartz – “A Storm”

Zebastian Swartz

I wrote about Zebastian Swartz last year when he released his fine debut single “Me and My Brother”. He has taken his time with the follow-up, but yesterday he released the new single “A Storm”, taken from an upcoming EP he has written together with Per Eklund. And what a marvellous follow-up it is, an energetic, uplifting pop track with country vibes and a lot of colours from the 70’s. Listen for yourself here:

The Bandettes – “Down the Road”

The Bandettes

The Bandettes from Malmö are soon coming out with their second album, “The Joker”, to be released on the 1st of May. Today they have a first taste for us in the shape of the single “Down the Road”, containing two songs. And it tastes really good, especially the title track which serves a tender, warm country pop that had all the grey, chilly vibes from the outside disappear in a blink.

Smith & Thell – “Hippie Van”

Smith & Tell

Instead of giving the song to someone else, the songwriter duo Smith & Tell decided to release it themselves. The song’s called “Hippie Van”, a catchy, fast, country-vibing pop song, which for the duo symbolises a longing for more organic music, away from the clubbased electro pop where they have  dwelled a lot before.
