Min Stora Sorg

Min Stora Sorg, or Ann-Sofie Lundin which is her real name, is back with a new single and video, “Jag står kvar”. It was a year ago I wrote about her wonderful debut EP, and now she’s underway with her first full length album, which is coming out in the beginning of 2014. The video below is created by John Artur.

Tikkle Me – “Niagara”

October 11, 2013 at 12:36 pm

Tikkle Me

Tikkle Me started out as a duo a few years ago by Frida Herchenröther and Karin Taberman, and blog followers with a good memory may remember Frida from the electro pop band Spectroscope, which we wrote about before. The last years the duo has expanded into a shifting collective, adding dancers, choirs and others, who on the live concerts interweaves dance, projections and art, which they describe as more of a performance art show than just a music concert.

The studio reordings have also grown, if I compare with their debut album from 2010, which you can hear on their recently released singles “Niagara” and “Time to Act”. Here they show a beautiful, powerful orchestral pop, which reminds me more than once of Kate Bush. These songs are produced by Niels Nielsen and the video to “Niagara” is directed by Johan F. Wahlberg.

Iida

I missed Iida’s debut single “Life Will Kill You” when it was released in Spring. But as she’s releasing a video to the song today, I take the opportunity to present this folk-inspired, uplifting pop-song here.

Honeymilk – “Light Entertainment”

Honeymilk

With three strong singles in their backpack from the last yearHoneymilk entered the studio this summer to record their first album, on their own. “Lean On Me” is the name of the album and is going to be released at the end of this month. To spice things up before the release they uploaded this track, “Light Entertainment”, a few days ago; a track with a suprisingly dirty sound, where they show that they’re not stuck in any song formula. If they continue like this I believe we can look forward to a fantastic debut album.

Soul of Gaia – “Rise”

October 4, 2013 at 3:03 pm

Soul of Gaia

A couple of weeks ago Soul of Gaia, aka Sanna Hallgren, released the new single “Rise”, the first one since last year’s “Two Hearts“. It’s a dramatic and strong track, a little like Adele meets Kate Bush, where Sanna’s beautiful voice is allowed to flourish. Listen here below, where you also can hear an acoustic live version in the film clip.
