Norma – “Joan” – video

January 28, 2013 at 3:06 pm

Norma

Here’s a song and a video which was released in the beginning of December. It’s the band  Norma who, with the song “Joan”, gives us a first taste of the new album “The Invisible Mother”, scheduled for release this week. Great song and video with an interesting sound where they blend synth pop, dreamy vibes and a filmic, dramatic feeling.

Sidechild – “Take It Leave It”

January 25, 2013 at 4:33 pm

Sidechild

I’m glad to know that Sidechild is underway with a new album. It’s been three years since the last album and Pontus Andersson’s solo project has turned into a duo where Jonatan Sjögren now also is a member. The album “There Were Cracks” will be released on February 20th, but you can taste some of it already now in the single “Take It Leave It”, a neat, catchy  pop tune with nice soul-groovy choirs in the chorus.

Laserbov – “Cutters EP”

Laserbov

Here’s a taste from Laserbov’s EP “Cutters EP”. Electronic pop with effect-driven vocals and quite few vibes from the eighties. Laserbov describes the project:

“Laserbov is a product of boredom and a feeling of nothingness but also of resistance and a belief in creativity used as a ease of mind. Pure escapism, with a queer sensibility.
Musically the influences comes from everything from 80′s New Wave and synth-pop to current electronic music.”

Gros – “Mother Mountain”

January 22, 2013 at 2:23 pm

Gros

The electro duo Gros, Wilhelm Bohman and Henrik “Punsch” Johansson, released the EP “Mother Mountain” in December. On the EP you’ll find four songs; two of their own instrumental tracks and also two interesting remixes of the title song made by Den Svenska Björnstammen and Freekok. “Mother Mountain” is a fascinating song which feels film epic, almost like a futuristic spaghetti western, while the following “Schmetterlinge” has a more energetic pop touch.
