Imi Fal

Melodic ambient for daydreamers. That’s what Ingemar Holmlid calls the music he creates under the artist name Imi Fal. He says that he started writing these songs as a reaction to all the stress and press we live in, to be able to relax with the help of the music and maybe find a calmer, more creative state of mind. And relaxing it is; there is no other way to embrace this but to calm down and relax. He released the debut album in Spring, “Follow No Path”, from which you can hear two tracks here below, and on his Soundcloud-sida he’s frequently posting new songs.

Andreas Söderström och Johan Berthling – “Hotell”

Hotell

It happens now and then that I describe music as filmic, like if it was part of a soundtrack to a movie, but it’s rather unusual that I present music that is actually written for a film. But today I have some real film music to show you with Andreas Söderström’s and Johan Berthling’s beautiful music to Lisa Langseth’s new film “Hotell”. It’s music that can stand on it’s own legs, with which we can can dream away for a little while and create our own images. Here in Sweden the film has it’s premiere in the beginning of October.

Angelic Ox

Henrik Ivarsson, whom we met under the name Morris i Motljus a year ago, has started a new project together with sax player Erik Winqvist, a project they call Angelic Ox. The idea is to let Henrik’s programmed instrumental electronica meet with Erik’s improvised soprano saxophone, an odd couple at first glance. But it works excellent, which can be heard on the two singles they have released this year, “Creak”/”Let Love Live” and “Matador”. Listen to a couple of tracks here below.

Rigas Den Andre

Henrik von Euler has been a frequent guest here this year. Besides music from the duo Dödens Dal and solo productions with his Rigas he has now also released a new EP with his second solo project Rigas Den Andre. Here it’s about minimalistic instrumental electronica, called Skweee, with what often sounds like 8-bits synths; simple wave forms which he bends and twists into something new and unique. Here are two songs:

Scraps of Tape

The unpredictable, but still fascinating Scraps of Tape, hailing from Malmö, released the new EP “Orka allt” in May. There you’ll find five songs that jumps between beautiful melancholic reflections, post rock, instrumental noise rock and more. Here’s the title track.
