John ola is the former guitarist in the punk band C. Aarmé. In Spring he released his solo album debut, which shortly is called “LP”. It’s a strong instrumental album where he paints harsh, dark landscapes, where the dust still whirls around after the battle, but where beautiful melodies makes it through the haze from afar. It feels filmic and the analogue synth sounds reminds us of old glorious days in this newly created rough environment. Here are two songs:

Snakethread is a Swedish producer and DJ, whom I’m going to present a couple of tracks from today. Well, you can guess that it’s about electronica, mostly instrumental. It’s ambient and colourful, rather varied and imaginative with ambiences that ranges from the ominous to chill with an urban vibe. He’s continuously presenting new songs, which you can follow on his Soundcloud page. Here’s a taste:

A little less than a year ago I presented the duo Fort Fairfield’s smooth song “Danziger Strasse“, and I think it’s appropriate that I also present the album where the song ended up. It’s called “Prenzlauer Berg” and was released in Spring. 16 tracks with nice laidback bass figures and an almost minimalistic instrumental electronica. A coherent and very much enjoyable album. Here are two tracks; one of them with guest vocals from Cosima Lamberth.

Music for love, dreams, and warm summer nights, the band Dorena, hailing from Göteborg, write about their new album “Nuet” (“The Present”). And it does feel summery in this instrumental, beautiful post rock where they mix old and new sounds, peaceful contemplations and grand post rock explosions. Taste a couple of tracks here below.
