The Pale Corners – “Fireflies”

The Pale Corners

“Fireflies” is the comeback single from the band The Pale Corners. The last time we heard from them was with the single “Steve Buscemi” in 2009. The ambition after that was to release more songs, but a lot of internal problems came in the way, and the songs were put on hold.

But now they’re back with this song, which feels really promising for the future. The band name the explain with:

Our lyrics are much about dreams and the state between reality and dreams. And then we thought that the name fit in there.

Radjoteatern

Radjoteatern

Radjoteatern was created by the duo Pentti Lindén and Pontus Englund in 2010. They came up with the name Radjoteatern (The Radio Theatre) during a trip to Egypt where they noticed that the only thing that was played in the Egyptian taxis was Arabian radio theater.

Before forming the band they worked with quite different styles of music, but had the fascination for electronic music in common. In Radjoteatern they started experimenting with synths, drum machines and sampling, mixed with acoustic instruments.

There is an EP released with the band’s music, 5 songs with their own style of electro pop with a hint of R&B, light and with nice melodies. On the EP they are joined by Nick Martin (Prins Eugen, Raketen!), Max Nilsson (Funkalics, No Big Deal) and others.

You can find Radjoteatern on Facebook where you also can listen to the entire EP.

Chikan – “Punk, Hip-hop and Indie Music”

October 24, 2011 at 1:54 pm

Chikan, which I wrote about before, released a new song the other day, “Punk, Hip-Hop and Indie Music”. Sort of a manifesto, according to himself, if anyone was in doubt from where he gets his inspiration.

Grenades For The Wall cover

I wrote about Grenades For The Wall earlier this summer and can now tell you that they have released their debut EP, “7”. A couple of the songs I described in my post are part of the EP and the other songs, with their soulvibing electropop, won’t make you disappointed if you liked the band before.

Listen to the EP on Spotify, on Wimp and other services. You can find the band på Facebook.

Fight Your Battles With Me

Sanna Hallgren

Sanna Hallgren

Sanna Hallgren is working on her debut album “Beat”, which is scheduled for release in January. As a first taste she released the single “Dance” a little while ago, and recently another song, “Beat”.

It’s two disco inspired electro pop songs with some indie feeling to them. Normally I don’t listen too much to music like this, but I was immediately caught by Sanna’s voice, which is really something. It radiates warmth and soul vibes and a voice that certainly stands out.

Here’s “Dance”, and if you’d like to listen more you can go to her Soundcloud page and you can follow Sanna on her site.
