Grenades For the Wall is a fresh new pop duo that played their debut gig in june and that has released three songs on the net this summer. Josef Melin is handling the synths, the songwriting and the production and Agnes Grahn is singing.
The sound reminds me of the the early nineties, but feels more stripped and mixed with other styles. One of the three songs, “The Soundtrack of My Life”, you can listen to here below; a nice electro-pop song with soul vibes, which accomplishes a lot with small means. “London Bridge” doesn’t feel that interesting to me, but “Fight Your Battles With Me”, on the other hand, is a really nice acquaintance. There they manage to stitch together a naked piano-pop ballad verse with a fatter souly chorus, which, the first time I listened, hit me like a little bomb and surprised me.
