MLC stands for Moa-Lina Croall, an artist and author I’ve written about before, but then under the name Croall & Sons. A few months ago, she released her debut album “MLC”, an album with eleven tracks where almost halv of them consist of ambient sounds as bridges between the song tracks. It feels quite unique and varied, to say the least, with a base of electronic beats on which she experiments with electronica as well as acoustic guitars, with her quite characteristic voice on top. It’s not inaccessible, on the contrary it’s basically good melodic pop songs which makes something special of. An interesting and creative album.
Kid Carbuncle is a project created by Gustaf Classon, who together with the producer Andreas Bolt create an interesting pop. Earlier this summer they released the EP “a Binary Blues”, an EP with pop which is a mix of indie and electro, with good melodies. The song that fascinates me the most is the first track “Hologram”, with the somewhat rough synth ambience, and the catchy refrain.
Here’s a song by Rasmus Faber in collaboration with Syke’n’Sugarstarr, “We Go Oh”. The summer vibes, the fragrance of freedom and the catchy fotball choirs really got to me. The choirs are in fact “Linus Norda & five other guys drinking beer and singing” as they describe it. Beautiful video.

Saturday, Monday is the instrumental autobiography of young Swedish uk-bass-dj / club promoter Ludvig Parment. This is the second taste we get from his debut album The Road and The Ocean and The End planned for early 2013 release. The new single is called Headshake and features the singer Julia Spada who’s previous work with the band O’Spada received praise from the likes of Annie Mac, Mark Ronson and The Guardian.
A little while ago the synth pop band Storbritannien released the EP Taiga, three songs where I’ve written before about the excellent starting track Domino. They were kind enough to give me an alternative version of the second song on the EP, “Min sista syn” (“My last vision”, a version that I like more than the one that ended up on the EP. Listen for yourself and compare here below, where you’ll find the original version as a video.
Furthermore, a couple of weeks ago they released a new song, “Vi” (“We), as a music video, somewhat different in the mood of what we’ve heard before from the band.
