Brott och Straff, who last year appeared as a duo and gave us a new electropop single every month, is now a solo project run by the songwriter Kim Nilsson. Today the first single “Livet asså” is being released, a single which is also the first taste of the upcoming EP “Molnen över dig”. As you would expect, the sound has also changed, from a club based beat to a more pop-sounding vibe overall. The lyrics were written half an hour after the birth of Kim’s son and tell us about life as a roller coaster, which is reflected in the song in the darker verse and the the catchy, light chorus.

And now a bit about Flip Lion. Behind this nick we find Carl Ågren, hailing from Malmö, a producer inspired by hiphop, trap, dubstep and bass music in general. Here are two tracks showing his brew of experimental and genrebending electronica:

Here’s a new single from Veronica Keding. “Don’t Ever Follow Me” is electropop aiming at the dance floor where  Veronica was inspired by the movie “The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo” for the lyrics. “The song is about empowering and strengthen women with low self-esteem”.

I continue today on the instrumental theme. Here’s Sanjin with the album “Fjärde soluppgången” (“Fourth sunrise”). I hear a delightful seventies-sound with krautrock vibes and retro-synths. The electronica is dominating in experimental ambient creations, but other elements are offered as well, like in the finishing “Utan dag utan timme”, with it’s rock-progressive touch. A fascinating listen all the way through.

A year ago I wrote about Imi Fal and his ambient, beautiful daydreaming-music. Since then he has released the album “The Man Who Sat Down” and after that also a few individual tracks. On the two last ones “Hymn for the Waiting” and “Sonder” he has developed his soundscapes further; it feels more vivid and richer in images, beautiful like sparkling morning dew in the light of early dawn. To me this is a perfect start of the week, a way of finding some peace in the middle of stress and obligations.
