The electronica duo Dagfest have released this funky track “Back to the Streets”, a successful date between modern electronica and 70’s funk. “Dagfest is what happens when a techno DJ and a vinyl addicted record shop worker get together and make music.” they write about themselves.

The duo Moodblanc, Magnus Dahlöf and Kenneth Jovinder, have now arrived at the eighth chapter in their ongoing story, which you can follow at their site. It’s called “Friday Night”, in which they turn on the whole package of disco charm including strings, funky riffs and “let’s go dancing”-choirs, moodblanc style.

On his new single “Rural”, released today, Tkačuk has collaborated with the indie band Humfree Bug Art. It turns out as a fascinating meeting where they have managed to merge their special characteristics in a beautiful way. They write about the song:

“Rural is about the expectations you have as a teenager, that everything will get better with time. Leaving the small and old for something bigger and better…”

Here’s the Danish trio Mont Oliver who released their debut EP “19” about a week ago. They have put together their very own mix of hip hop-beats, trip hop and pop, fronted by Jakob Hammershøj’s smooth soul voice. The biggest exclamation mark is found in the title track “19”, a track that radiates quite a special ambience from the hip hop beat, the pop melody and most of all the the electronic background which kind of looms over  it all, foreboding. It’s always fascinating to dive into Conny Olivetti’s electronic world. A month ago he released the double album “eleVen”, which is his eleventh one as the name implies. As with several others of his albums there’s a filmic vibe to this eventful electronica, a rather dark one with a noir feeling, which is further emphasized by the many sampled movie quotes in the songs. Three of the songs contain vocals by the singer Linnea, among them the starting track “Tara King”, a track which was present already on the last album but then in a bit shorter, instrumental version.
