Kept, hailing from Malmö, was formed in 2008 and has now released a second EP, “Detours and Sidetracks”. It’s about punk rock with american vibes, straight on, a good drive and nice melodies. So this post is written in that spirit (well maybe not that much punk in the text, but short and to the point at least)

Three years ago Nutmeg released their hardcore-pop album “Trigger”. Now they’re on the move again with a new album, “Basement Riot”, which seems to be more or less ready, at least when it comes to the recordings.
As a first peek of the album they release a single today, “Space”, which will be celebrated with a release party at Fritz’s Corner in Stockholm this Wednesday, where you also can buy the single on a limited vinyl edition.
Normally I am not that into hardcore, but this I really liked (and not only because I like to use Nutmeg in the food):

The story about Roí Höttur that started last year has now been crowned with their album debut “Imaginarium”. They continue on the album to develop their psychadelia and the impression of Pink Floyd, being a source of inspiration, is even more obvious now, I think.
The debut single “Dream of Papaver” has been trimmed and now has a sequel on the album in “Dream of Papaver (reprise)”. The end is a brilliant effort by Elin Larsson in a “The Great Gig In the Sky”-inspired part. Listen to the song here below.

Well, this is actually my 400th post here on Meadowmusic. That’s quite a few posts isn’t it? and it feels a little like a milestone somehow. If I add the other authors’ posts I estimate that we’ve presented somewhere between 350 and 380 artists and bands, and a majority of these have never been seen in a blog post before.
The band that is given the honour today is Perry and the Travellers. Their guiding star is Lynyrd Skynyrd and the conclusion of course is that it’s about southern rock. And that they deliver for sure, and great southern rock too. At least from what I can judge from the single with two songs they released recently.
The single is a first taste of their new album “The Grand Voyage”, which will be released on the 8th of April, their third album. You can find the band on their site and on Facebook.

A little more than a month ago, Sagabond released their new album “Easy Rhymes and Metaphors”. The band has now grown to a septet with a wide range of instruments: vocals, guitars, violin, cello, saxophone, piano, bass, drums.
If the recordings we wrote about before had a live-feeling in the production, this is more a skilled studio production. The folk vibes remain and are even amplified and altogether the album turns out to be a beautiful collection of five songs of indie folk-pop with nice melodies and arrangements where they really use all the instruments to colour the music.
