Some month ago Heart-Sick Groans released their third EP, “Look!!! These Three Painters of Hits Have Done It Again!”. It was about a year ago we wrote about their last EP, and since then, the singer Johan Brännström, also has released his own music.
To some extent this EP sounds differently, since there is a certain Hawaii-feeling in several of the songs, but in the end I recognize their uplifting, light indie pop and hooky melodies. Listen here below in a couple of tracks.
I wrote about Shallow Sensea couple of years ago, when they had released a new EP. Now they are on their way to release a new EP, “It’s a Lie That Time Can Heal”, and I find that a lot has happened with their music.
Well, they sound almost like a completely different band today, even if the final song on the EP, “Stay”, reminds me of the earlier songs. In the other tracks the guitars have left space for the electronica, the introverted for the extroverted and the focus is on strong pop melodies, which they do really well. If I placed them between Coldplay and The Killers last time, we can throw out Coldplay from the game this time and stay with The Killers.

Here’s another band we have presented before, and who has produced some new songs. Since Our First Guitar has released the single “Routine” with two really good tracks. I particularly like “Your Mind, Your Hell”, where Wallentin Richardsson’s cool voice come into it’s own.

dePhaser, hailing from Malmö, which we wrote about a while ago, is back with some great tracks. Basically they follow the same route as they did before, but maybe it’s more obvious where they’re heading? American postgrunge-rock vibes in the bottom with pop-sensitive choruses. Listen below in two songs.
Lovers Forgive Me is the name of Tobias Bergholm’s solo project and the debut album was released recently. It’s an album with a lot of variety and I find it hard to describe in words how it sounds in general terms. From mellow ballads sounding of the sixties, to seventies’ pop to the big expressions in “Blöd för mig”. The emotional variation gives me the feeling that this could have been a soundtrack to a rock musical with “Blöd för mig” as the dramatic final scene.
