The Rumble have finally released a follow-up to their debut album from last year. Three tracks on the EP “Expectations” are now available, and to some extent we meet a different sound.

The pumping bass is gone and instead they drag us into an energic blues rock in the first track “Expectations”. In the following tracks they calm things down (at least from a The-Rumble-point-of-view) and they serve us a couple of smooth, bluesy songs with a lot of souly rock feeling. A great follow-up and I don’t think The Rumble-fans will be dissapointed with this.

Liquor and Champagne

Marcus Gamme, hailing from Kalmar, released his second EP in April, “Come Away”. There he presents four songs of feelgood music, pop with a lot of back beats, acoustic guitars and summer vibes.

Burlin is a rare bird in hip hop, I’d say. It’s the poet who’s chosen hip hop to carry his lyrics rather than the hip hop artist that’s become a poet. This is empasized even further in the poetry readings in between the songs, as poetic comments to the sharp, hard song lyrics, which shows us seriousness as well as gallows humour.

Stefan Källström (Dirty Cannibal Peasants) has created the music and Burlin’s father, Christer (sr) Burlin excels in the dramatic readings (all in Swedish I’m afraid).

Lovisa Lindström is a singer/songwriter who released her debut EP “Something’s Been Missing” some months ago. She says her biggest inspiration has been Annika Norlin from Säkert, Hello Saferide. You could maybe notice this if you dig deep, but I think that she shows her very own voice in these recordings.

The arrangements are beautiful, yet not unique, but in combination with really nice melodies and quite characteristic vocals; clear, with a bit of frailty and some folk vibes; she manages to stand out and cut through walls.
