Hundhuvet

June 29, 2011 at 12:55 pm

HundhuvetHundhuvet is an interesting band from Malmö which plays a nice, messy, Skåne-Swedish-mellow indie pop with vocals in skånska (Swedish dialect). In April they recorded the song “Drömmarna slår alltid fel”, a great song which maybe points out a new direction for the band?

It’s a cleaner production and a song with a nice drive, but with same mellowness as before. They speak about heavy subjects but in the hands of Hundhuvet they become, not only manageable, but also (which is an interesting part about music) enjoyable.

You can find Hundhuvet on Facebook, and on their Bandcamp page and on Spotify you can listen to their four-track EP.

The Marcel Prostitutes – new songs

June 28, 2011 at 4:14 pm

The Marcel ProstitutesThe Marcel Prostitutes was presented here on Meadowmusic a year ago. They write that they will start recording their debut album in the Autumn, and are counting on a release next Spring, in 2012.

They’ve been kind enough, though, to send us some tracks that give us a hint of what they’re up to. Even if I recognize some part of the sound from before, they show us quite a few new tricks in these new songs. Listen for yourself here below.

Old Amica – “Ocean Beach/In the Trees”

Old AmicaI wrote about Old Amica in the beginning of the year. They have recorded a couple of new songs they want us to enjoy during summer, and you can download these below. They continue to develop their concept of nordic ambience, singer/songwriter and electronica, and I love it.

You’ll also find a video below to the wonderful song “Operation Table”, taken from their EP, a video made from clips from fans and listeners in a collaborative effort.
You’ll find Old Amica on their site.

Pallers – “Come Rain, Come Sunshine”

June 27, 2011 at 5:13 pm

PallersThe duo Pallers tell us that they have finished the recordings of their new album “The Sea of Memoirs”, which will be released later this year. They let us get a glimpse of what’s coming up with the new single, “Come Rain, Come Sunshine”, an electropop song that starts out naked and builds up nicely to a grande finale.

If you haven’t heard Pallers before I can recommend to listen to “The Kiss”, a great song from last year, which I’ve added here below as a Youtube clip. You can find Pallers on Myspace and on Twitter.
