The space travellers and folk-lofi-indie-pop duo Old Amica have released the second part of “The Burning Dot”, which I wrote about in February. Here they are with the starting song “Dunes” from the five-track EP.

Nina Wiemer, hailing from Malmö, released her EP “Processing Eleven” last month, her second record since the debut “Electrotherapy” in 2011. It’s singer/songwriter pop which tells her story about loss, abuse, relations and searching, which in spite of everything feels rather uplifting. Try out the song “Epilogue” from the EP here below.

Magnus Bergman has continued during Spring with his ambition to release a new single each month. I think he sounds quite comfortable in his naked, earhty sound which fits like a glove with his voice. The latest song is something as interesting as a duet with Gösta Linderholm. Yes, that Gösta Linderholm who recorded “Rulla in en boll och låt den rulla” which I think every Swede, born in the seventies or earlier, know well. The single is called “Drömmarnas Allé” and is an interpretation in Swedish of the Faces/Rod Stewart song “Gasoline Alley”, which Gösta also recorded in 1983. There’s some bluesy vibes in this song where I’m fascinated by how close their voices sound and note that Gösta is still going strong. It’s been almost three years since Yamon Yamon released their excellent debut album “This Wilderlessness“, but now, in about a week, the next album “Uisu” will be revealed to us. Meanwhile, while we’re waiting, they have released the single “Sticks/Stones” as a first taste of the album.

I’ve written about Fredrik Jonasson’s electronica project Silencio Stampa before. The latest album “The Red Album” was released in 2011, but since then he’s also produced a row of singles and EP:s. A new album “Kalejdoskop” was launched in March, an album which I think takes a different route than the ealier music, and which appeals to me even more.

I’m wrapped in warm analogue powerful synth sounds with sweeping, beautiful melodies; music that breathes a lot of seventies’ and eighties’ nostalgia. He also spices things up with two smooth ballads with vocals by Jenny Gabrielsson Mare rand Compute respectively, where you can listen to the last one here below with “The Hours”. A great album and the best so far from Silencio Stampa.
