Next it’s time for a Christmas boogie with BFM. Armed with their recent debut album they have followed this up with a Christmas Single: Rock Around The Xmas Tree
Finally we slow it down a little and go for some Christmas ambience with ad dios. The band (which recently released the album Avalon Revisited) has a tradition of interpreting an old English Christmas carol every year, and this year they have also crossed the channel and invites us to some French Christmas ambience: Il est né le Divin Enfant
Earlier we have seen Gustav Haggren in the band Gustav and the Seasick Sailors. Last year the band splitup, but luckily for us, Gustav has startet a new band, Case Conrad.
The debut album, “Dew Point”, which was recorded live in only two days, was released in October. Compare to the seasick sailors, this music has a different feeling, more dreamy, reflective, a little more mellow. And Gustavs voice is more sensitive and heartfelt than ever.
In November Gustav Haggren and the band’s guitar player Robert Johnson went to the US, with an ambition to tour across the continent during 4 months. You can follow the tour on their blog or on Twitter.
Mount Avalanche creates a dreamy, slightly mellow brew of pop and rock with nice melodies, lush guitars and cool vocals, moving from the low voiced to the grand sound. And I’d very much like to hear more of this.
In spring they released their first EP, “Swing It Low”, they have recently released a new single, “The Mountain (avalanche version)” and they say they are going to release an album during winter/spring.

The duo Llojd was a pleasant new acquaintance. Their slightly melancholic tone, the dreamy and melodic songs bear a nice tranquility. It’s electronica but also indie pop, with vocals that remind of the some of Joakim Berg in Kent.
Like myself they come originally from Kalmar and have also left the town for new adventures. Maybe they also have stood and viewed a foggy Kalmar Sund with a feeling of connection with the beautiful coast and surroundings but at the same time with an urge inside to leave, away from something that felt like an end station to something new and exciting.
If you’ve got a blog named Meadow Music you shouldn’t of course miss a band called Meadowland. Especially since Meadowland are on their way to release their debut album on the 30th of November, “Harbour”.
Meadowland is like candyfloss for the ears. And it fits perfectly to put a blanket on a piece of the meadow, lean back, eat some grapes and enjoy this soft singer-songwriter music. CSN&Y are there and Simon and Garfunkel are invited as well as Damien Rice and lots of others.
Sometimes they show us more pop inspiration, but it blends smoothly with the rest and we lilt the the choruses all the way home. It’s a good and varied album that grows with each listen and I’d say that it’s their best so far.
