Here’s a new Swedish band, Family Values, who released their second single some week ago,  “San Fransisco”. A coold soul-inspired Swedish pop which tells about a friendship which stretches from  Northern Soul-clubs in socialistic bunkers, all the way to a kitschy San Fransisco Bay.

I haven’t seen any band pages yet, except the one on Spotify. Here’s “San Fransisco” and below you’ll find the first single from Spring, “Härskarteknik”

Here’s a great-sounding new single from The Luxe, hailing from Malmö, which gives some promises for the future. I get some vibes of The Killers, how they sounded in the beginning, in “Untouchable (What It Feels Like)”. Listen and download here below.

Untouchable (What it feels like)

Christian Ramefelt has been working as a songwriter and freelance musician behind other Swedish artists. Now he decided to come forward as an artist himself, and in Spring he released his debut album “Porslin i väggen” where he could nurture his desire to write personal lyrics in Swedish. And personal it is, with an album that’s mainly is about cracked relationships, broken promises, farewells, betrayal and longing, which he views from different perspectives.

The music lands somewhere in the vicinity of Lars Winnerbäck, which is maybe most obvious in the fine duet with Edith Backlund, “Ge upp och gå” (“Give up and walk away”), but also Jakob Hellman and Peter LeMarc can be scented. There’s never a really dark atmosphere, despite the heavy subject, even if the music breathes a beautiful, close melancholy, but also determination and positive vibes. Competent songwriting and and a smoothe production. Listen for yourself here below in two songs.

Here are a couple of new pop songs from Chikan, which he’s released during the last month. Different from what I’ve heard from him in the last two year, but good nonetheless.

In spring I presented This Vision‘s single “20th Century”. The song was a first taste of the upcoming album “The Golden Age We Lost”, which was also released later in Spring. Compared to their debut album from 2009, quite a few things has happened with their songs and their sound.

We’re still in the eighties’ new wave-scene, with big rooms , analogue synth sounds and melancholy. But there’s more air, it’s warmer and more mature. They have managed to create a romantic, dreamy, retrospective feeling of the eighties, which I think many of us who grew up then recognise. It’s  an atmospheric album with a soft tranquility in it which you can sink into and enjoy from the first to the last song without getting tired of .
