The last time I wrote about Jamin Pirnia, his own name was the headline, and Jamin’ With Jamin was mentioned in the text as a new project. And it’s under the name Jamin’ With Jamin that he’s continued to perform, a project in constant change, musically and when it comes to the members, but with Jamin and his music as the core and heart of the project. For some time, though, some members have remained with the project, like for example Linda Sunesdotter on violin.

Finally in Autumn Jamin’ with Jamin released a studio production, the four track EP “Live Now”, produced by Jens Andersson (The Ark). And it’s quite a different sound on this recording than the ones Jamin has released earlier. Closer to the stage than the scene I would say, where the drama is more apparent in this mix of cabaret-folk-indie-disco-pop, most notably in the re-recorded Lipstick Killer.

In July last year I also had the opportunity to see Jamin’ With Jamin live, and it was a wonderful concert. There are few artists I know of, that can create such a feeling of togetherness between the artist and the audience, like Jamin. And the songs grow in such an intense way I think would be impossible to recreate in a studio, they experiment and change. A recommended experience.

Genuine Harmony, hailing from Karlstad, was formed in the mid 00’s, when Oscar and Simon started playing together already in the seventh grade. A few years and some bandmembers later they have now released their first single, the two track strong “A Thousand Times Before”.

And they produce a straight, simple and nice indie pop. Simple, efficient melodies, straight riffs, a pleasant sound and a nice drive, which you can listen to in the single’s two songs here below. You, Me & Coco

Orange Earth, which I wrote about in June last year, released a new EP a couple of months ago, “Southern Beech”. They continue experimenting in the outskirts of the psychadelia and the shoegaze regions and moves into jazz territories from time to time. Completely unpredictable from song to song and many times within the songs as well, which makes it even more interesting.

Station Thirteen

The duo Old Amica had a hard time finding continuity in their collaboration as they lived in different places in Sweden during years. Now one of them lives in Umeå and the other in Stockholm, but in 2010 they fit the pieces together and found a way of working together and producing music by sending files over the net.

In spring the debut EP was released and in November the second EP “For a Second EP”. The last EP contains seven tracks where they blend singer-songwriter with electronica, experimentation with tradition. All in a mellow and bare ambience.

Moon

Here we have a band that plays indierock/alternative if they were about to describe their style themselves. But I have do disagree and say that it is more like pop/punk. But that’s what’s tough about music, to categorize it.

Roshambo was founded 2009 in Karlskrona and have already released an EP and right now they are recording new material. The EP starts off with a short acapella track and the next song is a really nice punk song!, also the best track on the EP, then there follow 3 other songs, but they are more “poppy”. Nothing that get stuck in my head directly, but they grow as I listen to them.

Roshambo wanted us to push a bit for their poppier songs but my advice to you is to log on to Spotify and look up their EP and listen to PR Swine. It rocks!
