Lifer

Some long jumps between genres today, and next up is har rock/metal band Lifer. They seem to have something interesting going on, with a raw and dirty sound I like. A first taste is out with the two-track debut single “Rise”. Check out the video to the title track here below.

Roshambo – “Lonesome Men From the Woods”

Roshambo

Roshambo have released their second album, “Lonesome Men From the Woods”; an album where they have found their way home to a sound that fit them perfectly. The room is larger with plenty of space for the layered guitars and their playful melodies in something that now sounds more like energetic indie pop/rock than pop punk. A good varied album, creative and with fun arrangements. Here are a couple of songs.

The Tranq – “Dissident”

The Tranq

Next week The Tranq, hailing from Örebro, release their debut album “Loss Is for the Masses”. To show us what they’re up to, they have released a couple of singles from the album, the latest one in August, “Dissident”, and earlier this year “My Heart Is a Yo-You”. It’s two songs characterised by the band’s political engagement and a music style we recognise from their former productions with strong influences from alternative rock from the eighties.

The State of Floral Beings – “Arusha Control Speaking”

The State of Floral Beings

Johan Bring, whom I presented the other day with a professor’s title, is also a member of the quartet The State of Floral Beings. They have earlier released two full lengt albums, the last one in 2008, but are now back witha two-track single, “Arusha Control Speaking”. It’s lippy, somewhat punkish electro rock, where I think the the second track “A Real Life With Bran Flakes” is the coolest one. Listen here:

Nude Party! – “Ingratitude Is The World’s Reward”

Nude Party!

In April I told you about Nude Party’s single “Indie“, so I think it’s only fair to tip about the EP where the song finally found it’s home, the excellent”Ingratitude Is The Worlds Reward”. Strangely enough my favourite track from the EP shifts each time I listen, but right now it’s “Thank You For Nothing”, a song they describe as a celebration to bitterness, noise, tubas, accordions, pears and falsetto choirs.
