Also today I have the pleasure to present a Sofar Sounds premiere. It’s with Adora Eye, hailing from Gävle, who created some Americana-sounding magic, alone with his Gretsch guitar, about a month ago. Since I haven’t written about Adora Eye before, I also added two songs from his debut EP “The Devil and My Black Sunday Bird” from 1012. This year he has recorded his debut album together with producer David Lehnberg (The Deer Tracks), but I haven’t seen any release date yet.
After a two years absence Theo Berndt are back with new music. And I do recognize their playful, energetic indiepop in the new single “Atomic”, released today.
Today I can invite you to a premiere of Tired Tape Machine’s live gig at Sofar Sounds in Stockholm from earlier this Autumn. This beautiful melancholy comes from the two songs “Sisyphus” and “Somewhere Safe”, where the first song is taken from Tired Tape Machine’s new album “Not Here”, to be released on the 19th of November.
New single from the band Georgia Barbershop, “Blast Oyster”. The last time we met them they appeared like the punk cousins to the bands from “Nuggets From the Psychadelic Era”, who someone had secretly recorded while they were rehearsing in a shed. Now they have moved from the shed to a furnished garage and installed more modern recording equipment. But it’s still rock’n’roll and energy, and they sound a bit like an early New Wave-band with some britpop attitude. A new album is coming up within short.
Rebecka Rolfart and her band The Hanged Man continue their journey with two more great singles, “The Island” and “Into the Night”. More and more the image of a unique sound is being developed like a mix of psychadelia and dark electronica in big rooms from the eighties. On Monday they release the EP “First Quarter Moon” which is followed by a release party on Wednesday at Taverna Brillo i Stockholm.
