Linus Lutti and his Little Children has released the new EP “Traveling Through Darkness” with  4 tracks. This time he has worked on his own with the production, and it does feel more Linus Lutti, more under the skin and more personal than before. There are less Americana vibes and distortion and more indie pop and jangling guitar figures. The songs are balancing between light and darkness, between hope and sadness as happy, catchy melodies flow into lightly melancholic ambiences. On the title track Titiyo joins him on vocals and brings a wonderful soul vibe to a song that appears like a given  hit to me.

The Tarantula Waltz, aka Markus Svensson, released the EP “Lynx” a couple of weeks ago. He serves us four tracks with uplifting folk-based singer/songwriter-music. It’s intimate, close, and Markus’ passionate, warm vocals sweeps across the beautiful melodies backed by gentle, dynamic arrangements with inspired finger-picking, subdued piano harmonies and shimmering pads in the background.

The sound has an earthy luster, maybe echoing the environments around Gagnef in Dalarna where he recorded the album together with Kristian Matsson (aka The Tallest Man On Earth). There are four strong songs, each one with its own character. They grow with each time I listen, but I have to admit that I was immediately caught by the immensely beautiful “The Leaning Apple Tree” where he closes in on Damien Rice’s heights. In the beginning of the year, after the release of the EP “The Darker”, the group Pica Pica announced the launch of the EP “The Lighter” later in Spring. Now the first two tracks from the EP are out, songs that contrast the earlier songs with their feeling of peace and warmth in a laidback, dreamy pop.

Jonas Asker wrote the song “Hey You” to his little sister, who had just moved to Berlin and who needed some good advice, Jonas thought. It’s a happy song that breathes of sunny pop from the 70’s, indie and a certain Dylanesque vibe from Jonas’ vocals. “Hey You” is the first single from his upcoming debut album.
