The Moniker – “I Wait”/”How?”

June 18, 2015 at 4:35 pm

The Moniker

Let’s visit The Moniker’s pop factory again. On his way to his album he has released some more excellent tracks, where he as usual takes a bite here and there of pop history. “I Wait” is his own favourite from the album, he says, and the song that started the entire project. I am quite fond of  “How?” a glam rock-vibing song with T. Rex guitars, Bowie harmonies and a dramatic refrain with Beatles-choirs.

Astronaut In Cyberspace

Astronaut In Cyberspace

The quartet Astronaut In Cyberspace is a new acquaintance who released their debut EP a couple of weeks ago. I’d like to call it psychadelic folk music, suggestive, slow and with quite special-sounding, draggy vocals. It’s an ambitious project which doesn’t stop with the music, but also includes art and music videos to all the tracks. Listen to a selection of the songs here:

Moodblanc – “The Comeback”

June 17, 2015 at 5:19 pm

Moodblanc

When we all thought the game was over with the last installation of Moodblanc’s Riviera-romantic story, they return with another chapter. In “The Comeback” we find our hero all alone longing for lost love in this discosoul track dressed in a cool eighties’ elegance with summer vibes. If you’d like a resume of past chapters you can visit their site.

The Late Call

Today I’m presenting a video premiere with The Late Call, aka Johannes Mayer, performing live at Sofar Sounds in Stockholm with the song “The Pact”. The song is taken from his latest album “Golden”, his fourth since the start in 2009, and which was released in April earlier this year.

Vita Bergen – “Alexia”

Vita Bergen

The duo Vita Bergen, hailing from Göteborg, are in the studio right now, recording their debut album. In May they followed up on their successful EP with the single “Alexia”. A bit different sound here, with dark, pumping synth pop.
