A little less than a year ago I presented the duo Fort Fairfield’s smooth song “Danziger Strasse“, and I think it’s appropriate that I also present the album where the song ended up. It’s called “Prenzlauer Berg” and was released in Spring. 16 tracks with nice laidback bass figures and an almost minimalistic instrumental electronica. A coherent and very much enjoyable album. Here are two tracks; one of them with guest vocals from Cosima Lamberth.

I’m going to kick off the Autumn season today by presenting some more artists I discovered at Roskilde, and then continue with loads of new Swedish music. Here’s a beautiful collection of music of various genres and from different parts of the world:

Jake Bugg from England serves some brit pop, but first of all folk rock with a luster of the early sixties; the best I’ve heard in the genre lately. Here are two songs from the latest album, which is available on Soundcloud, among other pages.

Lovely mix of brasilian traditions and pop. Playful, rhythmical, melodic..

A comeback from a band that’s been quiet for 16 years. Reverb drenched, beautifully melancholic ambience.

A unique blend of chinese traditions and music from our part of the world, from this band with former punk rocker Song Yuzhe in the front.

I’ve had some vacation away from the blog for a while now, so I thought I would start again today, and I’ll probably write a few more posts this week. The music continues to flow into my inbox, so I have quite a stash to choose from.

I’m starting with a fresh single from today from Beat The Heart, a band I wrote about in June. It’s the song “Nurse Me (With Your Soul)”, which will be part of their new EP “It Never Ends” in the end of August. A good song in the same dreamy, romantic vibe as the ones I presented before.

BOA, hailing from Göteborg, are releasing an EP this week. It’s called “Time Flies” and consists of three songs: one newly written, on from their songwriting archives and one live remake of an earlier album song. Great songs all of them, even if I enjoy the new track “Played My Part” the most, a song which breathes of both early eighties-pop and indie from today, all of it with a pleasant sound.
