The Seed Coat – “Mammal Days”

The Seed Coat

The Seed Coat is first of all a creation by Alexander Eldefors. The project name was a part of an earlier project of his which never took off, and when this one started out, the name popped up again. Alexander also says that it can be seen as a tribute to The Seeds, which directly leads my thoughts to psychadelia from the sixties, which this to a large extent also is about.

“Mammal Days” is the name of the album that was released last month, an album full of psychadelia that sometimes feels like an updated version of a part of the classic collection “Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era”. The album has been recorded in various locations but still feels like a whole when it comes to the sound, but also shows quite some variation as he walks from the monotone to the melodic, exploring different corners of the psychadelic era. The melodic parts are represented here below by excellent single “I Was Gonna Say Something”, where Alexander also gets help from Gagerman on lead vocals.

You can listen to the album on Bandcamp or on Spotify. Follow The Seed Coat on Facebook.
