It’s been a couple of years since I wrote about the punk trio Same Old Story. Now they’re back with two new songs and seem to be working with their second album right now. These song were made for the album “Sweden the Deal”, a collection of Swedish punk rock.

Two years ago I wrote about Same Old Story after the release of their debut EP “Waste of Time”. Now it’s about their first full length album “A Great Disgrace”, which they released last month.
They continue on their skate punk road, but now it’s a little heavier, more punk attitude and a better sound. You can listen to the album on Spotify and there are also some tracks on their Facebook page. You can find their site here. Here’s “Study Your Bible Belt” from the new album:
Normally I don’t listen that much to skate punk. Not that I dislike the genre, maybe it’s just that it doesn’t tell me anything, at least for the moment. But the Karlskoga band Same Old Story managed to catch my attention pretty quickly.
I think their music feels really good, with an attitude that feels real, and not something that’s fabricated. They also manage to create something of their own here, with rock flirts, playfulness and a lot of musicality.
The fourth of April they have a release party for their new EP “Waste of Time”. A four track record full of energy. You can listen to two tracks from the EP here below.
