I Used To Be A Sparrow

The duo I Used To Be A Sparrow consists of Andrea Caccese and Dick Pettersson who released their second album “You Are An Empty Artist” during Spring. It’s a different experience they have created with their own version of dense, dreamy indie rock with a big sound and smooth melodies embedded in the clear, ringing guitar layers. Listen to a couple of tracks below.

Den Svenska Tystnaden – “Fyra fall av fattigdom”

June 20, 2013 at 5:08 pm

Den Svenska Tystnaden

Den Svenska Tystnaden, hailing from Malmö, invites us to a piece of social realism on their new EP “Fyra fall av fattigdom” (“Four cases of poverty”). Four songs and four stories  about real incidents from today’s Sweden, to be more specific Malmö. The singer and lyricist Pontus Wickman writes:

You don’t feel your clothes before something is itching and scratching. You don’t notice your everyday environment before something feels strange and out-of-place. You get that feeling often in Malmö and often it’s the starting point for our songs.

Miss Albatross – “Disco Blues”

June 20, 2013 at 4:16 pm

Miss Albatross

They deceive us a bit with the title of their new EP, Miss Albatross, hailing from Göteborg. “Disco Blues” is the name of the EP, and it doesn’t sound like disco at all, but contains a bunch of great songs with a lot vibes from British rock from the sixties. Charming, catchy, a lovely garage sound and a record I’m going to keep spinning for a while.
