Here’s a couple of songs from Albin Larslin och Den Arktiska Expeditionen’s album “Äventyren” (“The Adventures”) which was releas this Autumn. We recognise them from last year’s singles and you can’t miss the youthful energy that pours out from the record, and which vibes of Håkan Hellström, Rymdimperiet and wild indie pop in a euforic mix.

When the duo Mother Jack, Casey and Johan Moir, get up on stage they do this with the somewhat odd setup double bass, floor tom and vocals, well a loop pedal also which Casey uses foor her vocals, plus chimes and some other sonic decorations. In the beginning of the Autumn they released their debut EP “Presents…” which they, fortunately, based entirely on this live setting, which works wonderfully well. It’s music with a passionate drive and two strong personal expressions in Johan’s bass and Casey’s vocals. Listen for yourself here in two songs.

In October The Chrysler released the album “Hands Across the Sea”, which is their fourth album and their first one in six year, though it is the first album I hear with them. The band was started in 2001 by Pelle Lindroth and Anders Rudström, who today form a sextet toghether with the other members Nya Sampan, Martin Sörbom, Peppe Rudström and the productive, especially this year, Henrik von Euler. The record is quite a pleasant acqaintance with a sound that comes with both a retro flavour as well as an indie-roughness from today. Americana and country inspired pop with overall strong, melodic songs is my closest description, and with a variation where I’m reminded of the melancholic sixties as well as Dylan in the seventies. Here’s a couple of songs from Jonas Linngård’s project Kontroll. It’s about instrumental, melodic electro pop, where he describes the first song, “Home of the Wild”, as “Amiga 500 Bubble Gum Electro Pop”.

Now I’m going to play some music from the Swedish-Irish duo Tenonsaw. They recently released “Avenging Angels E​.​P.”, an EP that feels much more accessible than their earlier works. There’s still an experimental, sometimes minimalistic approach and these odd chord sequences, but with a clear focus on carrying the lyrics and Salt’s vocals. The result is a set of pop songs with a unique sound and ambience, desolately beautiful and songs that grow each time I listen. Here are two of them.
