I’m starting the day with a single premiere here on Meadowmusic. It’s the duo Brother North who are releasing the song “Rain Song” today, their first official single release. There’s a b-side too, “Krummi”, which is sung in Icelandic.
The duo Freyr Flodgren and Lucas Enqvist have known each other since they were ten years old, and they say that they more or less have been living together as brothers since then. They are living together today in a collective in the home town Umeå, a collective which has become something of a gathering point for musicians in their town. The song “Rain Song” feels like a natural step from what we’ve heard before, and now with beautiful string arrangements added, their acoustic music feels enchantingly nature romantic, and Freyr’s warm, open vocals have really found a home in these surroundings.
Rainmode is a new duo with the members Martin Alexandersson and Henrik Skanfors. Martin with his roots in the electronic DJ-world and Henrik coming from the singer/songwriter-genre meet up in this new single, “Buckle Up”, a catchy dance-vibing electro pop track, which you can listen to here below.
Here’s Last Lynx with a new single, “Lacuna”, a laidback soulpop track with a similar vibe to it as in “Killing Switch”, which I wrote about earlier this year. Listen for yourself.
If You Say So was born in South Africa, studied guitar in Cuba, and has been moving between Australien, Barcelona and Stockholm. That’s what it says in the press info to this artist’s debut single “Paint Me”, an artist who before focused on guitar-based singer/songwriter-music, but now wanted to create pop with a larger sound.
The duo White Birches, Fredrik Jonassson and Jenny Gabrielsson Mare, yesterday released another taste of the upcoming EP. “Stands of White Birches” is the name of the song, the beautifully ominous ambience breathes of Depeche Mode, and it seems like the high expectations on the EP, I got from the first single “End of the Line“, will be met.
