A few weeks ago Linn Öberg released her debut album “When You Go”. We have been able to listen to some singles from the album earlier, among them “Freediver”, which I wrote about in February. The record follows up in the same spirit with songs that is grown in large rooms, or rather grand open spaces as there are plenty of air to breathe. The base is often a lone guitar or organ together with her melancholic stories, but where the winds soon bring in harmonies from choirs, synth pads and other instruments. The result is music that feels uplifting, at times dreamy, contemplating where Linn’s voice reminds us of strength and determination. Here are two songs from the album:

Natali Felicia is a new artist from Stockholm who recently released her first song, “Used to Be”. The song. produced in a collaboration with Johannes Berglund and Andreas Grube, has already received quite some attention on the net, well-deserved for sure. It’s a sensual, laidback pop track with a tinge of Americana, slow, almost sedated, which increases the dreaming, retrospective vibe.

It’s been a while since I heard from the indie band I Don’t Speak French. On Saturday they released a new single, though, “Dawn of the New Age”, a quite infectious song where they blend funky vibes and indie pop in their own way.

The duo Friska Viljor, Daniel Johansson and Joakim Sveningsson, are back and underway with their sixth album, to be released in May. They are tempting us here with the new single “In My Sofa I’m Safe”. The song is about parenthood and that aspect about leaving the old life behind. There’s undoubtely some energy left for the duo, because here they accelerate and cross the speed-limits, and you can sense frustration just as well as a pure joy of playing. The chorus is a virtual folk party explosion where we all dance until we fall over out of exhaustion. Well, you have to grab the opportunity while you can. It’s your turn to change the diapers soon.

A couple of months ago Ludvig Lagerwall felt it was time to record some of his songs. He sold his car, found a small studio in Stockholm and sat down with his acoustic guitar. A few hours and a couple of sessions later the songs were ready, just like you can hear them below. There was no time and money for retakes and much editing, and maybe that was a good thing after all. It’s easy to lose this beautiful, naked, personal feeling you can hear in these songs.
