Finally it’s Spring again and the band Boeoes Kaelstigen are dancing of joy as they jump into their spacecraft heading for the awakening greenery in the forest before voyaging out to the satellites to get a closer look at the Spring sun. New instrumental single from the band, “Damm”, to be officially released tomorrow.

Blue Coat Venture – “Nothing to Die For”

March 17, 2015 at 12:59 pm

Blue Coat Venture

Blue Coat Venture is a solo project created by Gustav Löfstrand. He writes that he last Spring was wandering around in Stockholm dressed in his father’s old blue coat. His reflections during these walks landed in the decision to really do something about his own music creation and to go all the way with it. He and a friend built the studio Lärkskogen at the centre of Stockholm and he started recording his own songs, inspired by the sounds from the city.

You can hear the first results here below, two singles he released recently, which will eventually lead us to his debut album release on the 13th of April. It’s beautiful, soft, very soft singer/songwriter pop and I can sense the influence from artists like James Taylor och Nick Drake, which he names as sources of inspiration when he grew up. The songs feel like comforting songs, like soft pillows to land in when life feels rough.

The Lola O – “Jolly”

The Lola O

Here’s an interesting debut single from a new duo who call themselves The Lola O. “Jolly” is the name of the song, a pop song with folk hymn vibes and which grows to epic proportions in the chorus.

Dream Lake – “World of Dreams”

Dream Lake

Dream pop can’t become much more dreamy than on Dream Lake’s new single “World of Dreams”, which the song’s name also implies. Well, good, beautiful dreams then, dreams where we are flying among fluffy cotton clouds accompanied by choirs of angels while fragrant flower petals are dancing in the wind.

Sibirien – “Warszawa/Amsterdam”

March 13, 2015 at 3:27 pm

Sibirien

In the Autumn Sibirien, or David Björk, released the excellent EP “När jorden blev rund“. This week he presented the follow-up in the shape of the new single “Warszawa/Amsterdam”. The song is about a friend of David’s, who passed away last year. I can hear and feel that it gets more personal in an ambience that shifts between the tensed, frustrated and the melancholic, retrospective in the absence of someone who was once close. The video was directed by Dennis Tkacuk.
