Kid Carbuncle is a project created by Gustaf Classon, who together with the producer Andreas Bolt create an interesting pop. Earlier this summer they released the EP “a Binary Blues”, an EP with pop which is a mix of indie and electro, with good melodies. The song that fascinates me the most is the first track “Hologram”, with the somewhat rough synth ambience, and the catchy refrain.

This summer One Two DIE Four released a single containing two songs with mainly acoustic arrangements. The idea is that these songs will be part of their next album, but then with full arrangements. Compared to their earlier album, which I wrote about last year, I think this is even better. It feels more full of life, playful and unique, and Pelle Jonsson gets more space to show what good singer he is, instead of being drenched by massive guitars and embedded into backing vocal harmonies. A great band that is getting better and better and I’m looking forward to their next album.

Turn Off Your Television, one of my favourite bands from the blog, whom I have written about before, is on their way to release a new album with their special indie folk-pop. October 8th is the release day and I will get back to the album in a post later on. Here I’d like to show you a couple of songs they have uploaded as a taste of what’s coming. Today they released the video for the song “Coal Miners” and since before the single “Blanket of Shame” is out, two songs that promise a lot before the album release. Listen for yourself:

Hundhuvet, whom I wrote about last year, is back with a new EP, “Spårar ur”; four songs which sounds even better than before. I like Hundhuvet (Dog’s head), but I find it hard to put my finger on what makes them special with their melancholic indie pop. The singer, Fredrik Trossö, who performs the dark, sometimes word-rich lyricsin his own way, certainly holds one part of the explanation.
They tell me that their band name comes from one of their earliest songs, which contained the line: “jag tar på mig all skuld och skam och sånt som inte klär mig” (transl. “I take all the blame and shame and things that doesn’t suit me”), which leads to the Swedish expression “att bära hundhuvudet” (“to be the scapegoat”).

Tobias Bergbom has changed the name of his solo project Lovers Forgive Me to Förlåt, (Forgive Me) and during summer he also released the first single under the new name: the romantic-nostalgic “Staden river ner våra minnen”.
