Chernobiel is a Finnish band with partly Swedish roots. So far they’ve released three song, which you can listen to on their Soundcloud page. It’s a good, nicely guitar driven indie rock which sometimes gives me Radiohead vibes. Listen here below in a track.

Apparently the band has changed name since I had contact with them the last time. They call themselves Krohnstadt now and they have a Facebook page to visit.
Last week I told you about Kvartetten Raekan and their philosophy of creating their own country, which you reach by listening to their music. Another band that has embraced this idea and created this is Lymland. The name of the country is of course Lymland, and on the cover of their debut album “Ensamtidsroman”, which was released in the end of September, we can even study a map of this island.
In Lymland it feels harmonic and quiet, but also a little lonely sometimes. The pace is slower than here in our world, when we quietly stroll along to some well-chosen organ or clarinet melodies, or lie down in the grass watching the sky filled with large cotton-like clouds, to the tones of a guitar figure. It’s not a carefree world, though, which we’re reminded of as disharmonic tension intrudes in”Mannen med rök i handen” (“The man with smoke in his hand”) or the only vocal track “Söndagstråkigt” (“Sunday boredom”), or as the beast rages in “Räven och hägern” (“The fox and the heron”). It’s an album you can escape to when life goes a little too fast and we need to think about what we’re doing.
Lymland was created by the duo Sonja Perander (If They Ask Tell Them We’re Dead) and Jerker Kaj (Scraps of Tape). The album was recorded during a few days in December last year, with the help of the singer in the band Solander, Fredrik Karlsson.

Here’s a debut single from Cave Cat, a band that was formed when two guys met in a bar: “The idea of starting a band together formed in a common love for the British guitar pop from the 80’s and 90’s. Soon two became four and the band CAVE CAT was formed.” And that’s how it feels: indie with The Smiths and postpunk vibes. Listen to the title track here below.

Today I changed the design here on the blog, as I was seriously tired of the old look. I hope that you’ll feel more comfortable here now, with less clutter and more air to breathe. So, this is the first post on the new site.
And it’s about Francobollo, a band of soulful lunatics that moved to London and apparently are on the way of having quite some success there with their music. The music videos are indeed something special together with the songs, and when you have seen them their “lo-fi grunge-pop” appear to be contagious. They have earlier released the single “I Found a Bike Today” and now, a couple of weeks ago, the new song “Basketball”. You’ll also find the song “Sense” here below.

Fou De Toi know the art of creating melodies that stick in you mind. And best so far with their latest song “Pick Up Your Phone”, which has that obvious melody that catch you immediately, a melody they repeat with guitars and that’s also in a way supported in the verses. It doesn’t make it any worse that they have their own pleasant sound which feels rather relaxed and laidback where the melodies just float through and blossoms in the chorus with just the right push.
The band started one and a half year ago when the singer Erik Hääger came back after touring in the US with the rock band Carolina Liar for 18 months. He felt the urge to make music of his own and started Fou De Toi with his childhood friends Johan Malmberg, Daniel Karlsson and Ludvig Haptén. In Spring they released the debut EP “The Impossible Thrill” and now this Autumn this single with it’s two songs.
