The Sweet Serenades today release another song for free from their latest album “Help Me”, which I wrote about a little while ago. It’s the song “After All the Violence”, a duet with Karolina Komstedt and one of the softer tracks on the album, without hand claps and fotball choirs, but still unmistakably The Sweet Serenades.

About a year ago I Wrote about The Litsos. The band has now released their second EP “Daylight Saving EP”, an EP where they explore some new directions with their music. On a couple of tracks I recognise them well from before with their new wave and post punkish The Cure-influences, while they on the wonderful melancholic ballad “Never, at All” follow a somwhat different path, or in the finishing song, the beautiful acoustic “Mourning Glory”, where they open the curtain to a different atmosphere, like if they woke up one morning and were inspired by the first serene sunlight.

Today the band Wonder Coast release their debut album “Keep Sleeping On the Beach”. I haven’t had the time to listen to the entire album, and it’s not up on Spotify yet, but they have three songs out since before, where you can download one of them here below. From what I hear Wonder Coast present a pleasant mix of brisk brit pop, vibes of freedom thirsty let’s-runaway-classic rock and garage indie with a joy of playing, and I will definitely check out the entire album soon. The band says that the song “Sandy” here below is not about a person named Sandy, but rather about “that old sandy creek”, a bay in Blekinge from where they come, also inspired by The Clash and old movies from the fifties.

The rock band Giri released their second album this autumn, which is almost six years since their debut album in 2006. They mix quite a few influences on the album, where they from the view of a guitar driven indie rock sound take a peek at more melodic pop tunes as well as at arena rock and even some punk rock. An interesting ingredient is that they have involved the sitar player Stian Grimstad, who both starts the album and finishes it, and has his hands on the colouring of such different songs as the punky “K.T.T.P. and the jazz-pop-rockish “Dangerous”. Early in the Autumn they released the video tothe song “Lost and Found” which you can watch and download here below.

Pleasantly enough for us who like the indie rock band Obliq, they say they are going to release a new album in January, the first one since the debut four years ago. But you don’t have to wait that long to taste the album; last month they released two singles and you can hear and watch one of them here below, “Ahead of Time”.
