Mårten Lärka – “Robot”

September 14, 2015 at 3:39 pm

Mårten Lärka

Mårten Lärka serves us another song in French, this time an energic, bluesy tune called  “Robot”. It’s quite captivating , and I’m starting to feel like a robot as I get caught in the smooth, hammering rhythm. In Spring he released the single “Je Suis Un Rocker“, and I wrote then that he would release an album in May, but it’s actually next year, in 2016, when his album  “Alouette” is coming out.

This Is Head

This Is Head moved into a cabin on the island Mjörn on the Swedish west coast last year, and wrote and recorded the tracks that will be included on their third album in the Autumn. Last month the first single “People” was released and a week ago “Timmerdalen” was presented together with a video. Up until the album launch they will release another single and three more videos. Here are the first tastes from the record.

Kinetics

Kinetics have released a row of great singles during the last two years. Last month they collected the best of the songs and released them on an EP together with a couple of new tracks. Listen here to two of the tunes with the band’s grand-sounding, melodic and uplifting indie pop.

Hagaliden – “Inget är vårt” – album

July 8, 2015 at 4:11 pm

Hagaliden

The band Hagaliden’s new album “Inget är vårt” certainly deserves a place in the sun this summer. With beautiful pop melodies dressed in a sound that breathes of the Swedish seventies, and lyrics that deliver poetic face slaps to the political generation that went inside and closed the door, the band is glowing on this record. Here are a few songs from the album.

Magic Potion

In February I presented the first track from the trio Magic Potion, and they announced an EP later in Spring. The EP, “Melt”, was released last month and served four tracks with incredibly charming reel-to-reel-tape-produced garage pop songs. Here are two of them.
