Imi Fal’s music is made for making you decelerate, sit down and take it easy for a while. On his third album “The Lightest Touch” he continues to build on his melodic ambient music with a sound he showed us in a couple of tracks last year. The feeling reminds me of getting up early in the morning, before anyone else, seing a sun that has just managed to crawl over the horizon. After a while other sounds seep in from the outside, from nature, from the city, from people, but it falls into the calm, slow pace of the music. Beautiful and relaxing and definitely the best album from Imi Fal so far.

A year ago I wrote about Imi Fal and his ambient, beautiful daydreaming-music. Since then he has released the album “The Man Who Sat Down” and after that also a few individual tracks. On the two last ones “Hymn for the Waiting” and “Sonder” he has developed his soundscapes further; it feels more vivid and richer in images, beautiful like sparkling morning dew in the light of early dawn. To me this is a perfect start of the week, a way of finding some peace in the middle of stress and obligations.

Melodic ambient for daydreamers. That’s what Ingemar Holmlid calls the music he creates under the artist name Imi Fal. He says that he started writing these songs as a reaction to all the stress and press we live in, to be able to relax with the help of the music and maybe find a calmer, more creative state of mind. And relaxing it is; there is no other way to embrace this but to calm down and relax. He released the debut album in Spring, “Follow No Path”, from which you can hear two tracks here below, and on his Soundcloud-sida he’s frequently posting new songs.
