Half of the duo Our Underground Firm, the rapper Compulsive, has released his debut track “Take Me Home”. It’s a fascinating track where he moves through the big city’s illusive setting, a setting where he no longer belongs. His humanity is being stripped away, which he underlines with his somewhat chopped flow, and the swirling voices and sounds around him put him in a suggestive and foreign world. It’s creative and thought out from the first line to the last. Hiphop at its best. And the city, it’s Stockholm.
Niklas Gottfridsson Jeng calls himself LAS as an artist, and recently he released his debut single “Ta över världen”. With this new and fun music video interpretation it all turns into a great mix of humour and seriousness, perfectly coloured by his natural way of delivering the rhymes. It’s a personal style without exaggerations, but with a sweet nuanced flow which breathes life into the words.
The band Monarken, hailing from Eskilstuna, recently released their single “Staden får falla”. It’s a catchy hip hop/pop tune with a positive spirit we all could use today. It’s easy to get caught by their youthful energy that everything is possible and that the world is at your feet. This is something we of course want every child and youth to be able to feel, no matter where you live and no matter where you come from.
And now hip hop from Malmö with Rebstar. He has just released the new single “Reputation”, and has also promised to deliver his awaited debut EP in November. “Reputation” is also the debut for young Saint as a producer, a debut which promises a lot for the future in this bassdriven track.
The rapper Tee Fye, hailing from Uppsala, whom I wrote about two years ago, is on his way with a new EP. But first he’s building up som speed with a couple of singles and first up is “Born to Be On”. Here he rap with his energic flow to a production created by the Spanish producer Freestyla The Beat Guuurl. Well, Freestyla The Beat Guurl is behind all the tracks on the upcoming EP, and on Sunday next single is coming up.
