I’m finishing this Friday with a piece of acoustic beauty. Songs of Sam, aka Samuel Heiligers, released this wonderful song, “Just Like an Angel”, in Summer. I have written about him before, but you may also recognize him as a former member of Monde Yeux, or as one half of the duo Woolfish.

I am glad to see that Magnus Fagernäs, aka MANKKU [mancko] is back with a new single. It’s the blues-vibing “Guld & Silver” he presents us, while announcing more singles soon and a new album further on.

In May Albin Eidhagen took his guitar, an organ and some recording equipment and found a spot at Pite River in the north of Sweden. Together with Rebecca Lundholm they recorded three songs beside the northern giant and are now presenting them one by one as music videos. The atmosphere, the light, the colours in harmony with the interaction and immersion from Albin and Rebecca make this magical. Even though it’s May the northern chill still lingers in the air, the light is sparse, as if the landscape is charging for the long summer days to come, but the two artists are glowing of warmth. Here are the two first songs from the session.

Immunförsvaret consists of David Björkén and Oskar Dahlberg, two musicians with their roots in Luleå who have played together in several other bands before. During Spring they have started to release singles, aiming för a debut album. “Svartvattnet” is the third single, which is presented in this entertaining (and ominous) video. This is a perfect combination of roots music and clenched fists from the north of Sweden.

Even though the paint from the debut album “På riktigt” is still wet, Låtsaspoeten is already on his way with the follow-up. It’s called “Nattmusik för människor” and he has promised to deliver it in the early Autumn, with plenty of time before the Winter darkness gets a hold of us again. The first taste “Hoppet kan va hopplöst” was released today, and he says that we can expect more extracts from the album in the time to come.
