Sibling Sense is an interesting band. If you want to simplify things, you could say that they are a post grunge band, but it’s not that simple, as always. They can produce a grand, dramatic rock like in “Lights out”, but they don’t hesitate to bring out a more dirty rock sound like in the dark, suggestive “Frogs”.
These two tracks were released in November, and you can listen to them here below. I have also added the video to an earlier song, “Blossom”. Discover more of Sibling Sense on their Myspace page.
From the Malmö/Helsingborg band Tic a rock energy beam, hard to avoid, is delivered. With the singer Emma in the front they give us a raw, unpolished rock with garage feeling but with a hard rock heaviness. This is probably best experienced live, but I think they have managed to impregnate the recordings, which you can listen to below, with a whole lot of energy.

Icons On Television, which I told you about last year, have earlier this year released some new tracks. They continue to produce good songs in the same style as before. A dark alternative rock with a trace of the eighties, is the theme in these tracks too, even if the sound has developed into something that sounds closer and a little less eighties.
Here you can listen to “Young Blood”, and if you want to listen to the other songs, you can visit Icons On Television on Myspace.
I don’t know exactly what the name iOktember stands for, but my first associations are of course with the autumn. And there is some autumn atmosphere in the music, at least the part of the autumn that means a bit of melancholy and lots of colours.
Considering that the summer here seems a little absent at the moment, it feels just right to listen to iOktember now. Somewhat grey skies, some rain and Emil Henricsson’s special, warm voice together with the piano makes it a little warmer here inside.
You can find iOktember on Facebook or on Myspace, where you can listen to more songs.

Melaina plays an alternative rock that sounds really interesting. Last fall they released their debut album, and you can listen to a track from the record, here below.
It’s an ambient and emotional rock that builds up a nice sound space. A little in the direction of bands like A Perfect Circle, but at the same time with a lot of variation. I can sometimes feel a metal heavyness and also a progressive, experimental feeling that challenges boundaries.
This is music I can listen to for a long time and float along in the almost meditative rock they play. If you’d like to listen some more, you should visit their Myspace page.
