Novo Amor invites us to this immensely beautiful song, “Anchor”. It certainly surrounds me with warmth in this dark Autumn night, like if there were still some sparks left in the last camp fire of the summer. Behind the artist name Novo Amor and the soft falsetto voice you’ll find the British artist Ali Lacey, who last year released his debut EP “Woodgate NY”, a highly recommended album.

Eyemouth came out of the electronica band Estrange, where some of the members had created songs mixing electronica and organic instruments and therefore neeeded a new platform for this. This year they have released three EP:s, where the latest one “Noera Genesis”, was launched this Autumn.
It’s undeniably a dark album with a sound that draws dystopic inner and outer soundscapes, and which generally has a theatrical, dramatic touch, especially when the vocals come in. The music is incredibly manyfaceted and you can hear vibes from many directions including artrock, postpunk, drone and ambient electronica. It’s unique, eventful and quite fascinating, and as far as I have listened, each EP release seems to explore a different atmosphere. They have announced that they will release another EP before the year is over.

And now hip hop from Malmö with Rebstar. He has just released the new single “Reputation”, and has also promised to deliver his awaited debut EP in November. “Reputation” is also the debut for young Saint as a producer, a debut which promises a lot for the future in this bassdriven track.

The duo Roth, which consists of the two siblings Julia and Gustav Roth, released the single “We Are” last week. It’s a piece of dreamy, uplifting and catchy pop with a rather minimalistic arrangement but still grand-sounding, a sound they were inspired to in a recent visit to Japan. The song is a love tribute to the equality of all the people in the world, they write.

Another uncompromising artist is Richard Ahlgren and his danmarck, who is now releasing a new EP. He continues to suprise and experiment and sounds rougher than ever as he has moved further into the garage. When he gets up on stage in Jönköping on the 7th of November he’s in the company of five guitars and a transverse flute. You can hear the flute here below in the Patti Smith-inspired “Manga”. And “pants on pants off leaves on leaves off” was created in a rehearsal jam under the influence of Dead Kennedys and Entombed, he says.
