One could guess from the band name that Yngling (Youngster) is a young band, a band name they explain with:

A youngster is someone you can both love and hate. And contrasts are what our music are made of. And then we like boats too.

I wouldn’t be able to guess that they were youngsters from listening to the music, though; it’s an instrumental thematic rock, with progressive vibes, ambience and like they say, contrasts where they build up the songs beautifully. And if they hadn’t written anything about it, I would have said something about the guitar layers too. But there aren’t any guitars at all. Good music in any case.

The band Coyote Deathbed nurtures some mystique vibes. About the name the band tells us: “A man told the story of the coyote deathbed. Never went back, but still never forgot that place… It is everything that is feared. It is everything that is loved.
And there’s also a killer-falafel place. So that’s recommended if you ever happen to visit the coyote deathbed.”

And it feels a little like a harsh prairie. It’s hard, cool, sunburned lo-fi and laidback. Like if Tom Waits made an EP together with White Stripes or like the band likes to call it: vegetarian, progressive grindcore. And there is an EP out now, “I Got Two, How Many Did You Get?”, which you can listen to on Spotify or on the Facebook page. Here’s one track:

Today Bus Stop Dreams, the band I’m part of, made the second release. It’s the single “Anything” with the two songs “Anything” (vocals by Jenny Fall) and “As Long as I Don’t Cry” (vocals by Ulla Wrethagen). The title track is written by Lasse Thomasson and Fredrik Muskos and the second song by Lasse.

Whipping Princess was started by the bass player Karl Hinterleithner and the singer Jenny “Princess” Jonasson. The ambition was to whip together their own blend of soul, rock, blues, punk and metal and a first effort came earlier this year with the EP “Let You and Me Be One”.

It’s a somewhat uneven production but where a song like “State of Hate” stands out and sounds of garage-vibing hard rock with metal influences. The singer Jenny has a special tone and quite a strong voice and attitude, reminding a little of Dio in her expression.

State of Hate

The band Jet Link released a single in the beginning of October, with two songs as a first taste of the upcoming album. They have released a couple of EP:s since they started in 2009, but I haven’t listened to them before, so this was a nice new acquaintance..

The song “Foxes” is a really good song; uplifting rock that smells indie from far away, but still a nice pop construction in the bottom. Listen for yourself here below.
