“The band name itself reflects the twisted, fast moving world of the 21st century, often cold and harsh but then again so beautiful at times; intimidating but still fascinating.” That’s how the band Hello Confusion describes their name.

The band started out in the beginning of 2008 and has already produced an EP, “Into the daze and round the bend”, from which you can listen to two tracks below. They offer a modern rock with a nice drive and good melodies, and it sounds really promising for the future.

It’s a day of contrasts today. At six a’clock pm I’m going to church to listen to the Lucia performance. Traditional, beautiful and extra emotional since my little daughter is singing in the choir. And I’m sitting here, preparing myself by listening to something completely different. From the fully predictable to the total opposite. But, of course, there is also beauty in The Argument’s new album “Summer/Winter Nights”, so it’s not completely the opposite in all aspects.

This feels very fun to listen to. As I said, it feels unpredictable in this lo-fi indie-pop/rock from The Argument. You’ll find great pop gems mixed with considerably more experimental tracks. In one track I feel the vibes from Talking Heads and in another I hear Bright Eyes, but it’s far away from some kind of description of the music overall. Basically it feels quite unique.

Niklas Lindkvists manages to recreate the nice feeling from the seventies when CSN&Y, Neil Young and Tom Petty gave birth to a lot of classics. And first of all it’s the spirit of Neil Young that I feel hovers in the background of Niklas Lindkvist’s music.

Here’s a nice live feeling with nicely disted massive guitars, an underlying energy, a drive and a musical playfulness that I like. Niklas Lindkvist’s voice summarises it all with his naked honesty, as far from artificial perfection as you can go.

I get a lot of vibes from the eighties with Dolly Daggers. They have created their own mix of new wave, glam, electro and everything else you want to put in there, a mix that’s hard to neglect. And then the songs! A great feeling for melodies with grand choruses that make it all the way through. With guitar and synth hooks, a good drive and a nice cool attitude, you get a concept that feels solid and songs that I want to hear over and over again.

Numb

Lashing Patsy feels like party for me. Energy, excitement, happy music and happy people. A little bit of glam but more spontaneity and playfulness. Even if I sometimes hear Indie pop in their music, it’s mostly the seventies I think about when I listen to Lashing Patsy. Blondie, some Roxy Music, a bit of glam rock and a bit of new wave and lot of good pop melodies. It’s also nice with two singers, Anna Rosander and Johan Hammarsten, whose interplay and collaboration give the band more character.

Last spring they released their debut album, “Nightclub Trophies”, produced by Jens Anderson (9Voltstudio, The Ark). Here below you’ll find two tracks from the album:
