Henrik Lundqvist sounds like no one else. Earlier this year we heard him as The Screamer, but here he’s back with his band Nutmeg in the single “Ready Yet”. It’s high octane, straight on with an irrestistible energetic rock chorus. The video is actually a stop motion video, put together from 15000 stills.
On the 7th of October Frida Selander is releasing her new album “I Hear Sunshine”. She has already showed two of the songs from the album, and it’s just as enjoyable as it’s been before. She radiates a wonderful, laidback, uplifting and soulful playfulness, seemingly effortless, in one song pearl after the other, whether she handles the electric guitar in bluesy rock songs or goes acoustic like here in “Jesus as a Girl”.
If the last post was about a song from a film, this one is about a song seeking a film. I does feel filmic in this bittersweet, beautiful and dramatic pop pearl from Rickard och Juvelerna, hailing from Göteborg. The song’s called “Du som aldrig har levat (kan inte bara dö)” and appears like when Göteborg shows us its most beautiful face, lit by sunbeams that have broken through dark, heavy skies. The song is being released officially on Monday.
Last year I wrote about the duo The Perfect Mess’ debut single “There Is Still Time“. Later they released an excellent altrock-sounding debut EP, and have now released their first music video. And it’s a great video too, with a story within, which we of course enjoy. The song “Wonderful Whiz” is taken from their debut EP.
A dose of hard rock, a dose of 70’s glam rock and quite a scoop of The Beatles. Those are some of the main ingredients for the Stockholm band Slugger’s song “Stalker”. And it tastes really well and spicy, which you also can hear in a couple of other tracks here below, tracks where they have added a few more rock spices as well. A debut album is on it’s way to our menus soon.
