Last month the duo Anti Pony showed us the 60’s-influenced psychadelia sounding b-side “Cry On the Floor” from their debut single. Yesterday the single was released and we got to hear the title track as well. It’s psychadelia and the 60’s, but also with a large dose of pop from that decade and a trace of Velvet Underground & Nico.
Holy is a project started by Hannes Ferm, hailing from Umeå. A few days ago he showed the title track “Golden Fog” from the upcoming debut EP. It’s two minutes of wonderful garage-psychadelia with reverb and sharp guitars which sound like they were fetched directly from the 60’s originals. The debut EP will be released on the 10th of December.
Despite the name Siri Karlsson is a duo, Maria Arnqvist & Cecilia Österholm, who, together with guest musicians, experiment with contemporary folk music. A new album, “Lost Colony”, is coming up in February next year and they write that they are slowly leaving the folk music, and instead approaching a mix of drone, psychadelia and proggressive music reminiscent of haunted woods and dead swamps. The song “När mörkret faller” is a first taste of this, a song which opens with a seductive ambience with a mantra-like repetion which is then followed by dazzling, beautiful folk jazz and finally ends in an inferno of sound. The video is directed by Anna Erlandsson and Staffan Erlandsson. Background and animation by Victoria Ercin.
The duon Lejonsläktet, Alexander Eldefors and Volter Hagman, are back with more folk psychadelia on the new single “Två”. It contains the two songs “Väderkvarn” and “Trygghetens rus”, two songs approaching the progressive vibe from the seventies even more than the earlier songs.
The duo Anti Pony, Sanna Colling and Alexander Pierre, recently revealed their first (official) creation, a song called “Cry On the Floor”. It’s psychadelia, it’s the sixties and a very beautiful retro mix. They present the song as being the b-side on a vinyl-single that will be released in December, which alltogether becomes an amusing comment to how completely differently we do things today compared to how things were done back in the days.
