Calderon – “OK”

Calderon

Here’s Olle Calderon‘s debut EP “OK”. Three songs that start out somewhere with grand, romantic synth pop from the eighties, but that still land here today with the weight, the harder sounds and the pumping bass. Nice, catchy melodies. Here are two songs from the EP.

Here’s an interesting EP-debut from the pop duo flo., i.e. Fredrik Danielsson and Lo Johansson Hammarström. Disco, electropop and soul get together on these five songs together with beautiful catchy melodies and Lo’s simply wonderful vocals. Here are two songs.

Natten

Natten

The Stockholm quartet Natten (The Night) leaves for nocturnal instrumental journeys with the help of a trumpet, bass guitars and electronica. Not necessarily that pitch black but full of mystique, nightly pulse and scents from foreign places. So far they have released three EP:s and a couple of singles, the latest ones the EP “Dhalion” and the single “Nairobi Night”. In the song “Makt” (“Power”) here below they are joined by Örjan Högberg from Fleshquartet on electric violin.

Dpoint – “Lies of Silence”

Dpoint

The duo Dpoint was formed in Trollhättan already in the end of the eighties by Peter Andersson and Robert Widell. And it’s also from this era I feel most vibes when I listen to their new album “Lies of Silence”. There’s lead heavy pumping synths which give me quite a few associations to german synth pop, but where also Depeche Mode-listeners may feel at home from time to time. Exept the starting “Lies of Silence”, which you can hear below, the best track to me is the finishing “Dance Tonight”, a song with more dance floor beats and a wonderful wild, distorted guitar which gives a lot of character to the song.
