New electropop single from the duo Eternal Death, Elin Berlin and Johan Angergård. It’s called “Violence”, a piece of shimmering, a bit suggestive, grand-sounding synthpop and another example of Johan Angergårds ability to create pop melodies that immediately stick in your head. The song is taken from the debut album “Eternal Death”, to be released on the 23rd of February.
Rocket Brother consists of the two brothers Jonatan and Simon, who have been working together in this project since 2013. They have earlier released the EP “Gravity” and the single “Someone Like You”, and are now working on their second EP. First out from this EP is the track “Hold On “, a song about escaping problems told by vocoder-tinged vocals backed by sweeping synth arpeggios. Sweet!
Here’s a new single with Sirena, “Lunar Lights”; a pretty pop track, electro driven an percussion heavy. It’s described as being positioned somewhere between Tove Lo and Seinabo Sey, which seems like a good comparison to me.
Mattias Svensson, earlier saxophone player for This Is Head and RebekkaMaria among others, is releasing his debut EP on the 1st of February, an album with the short name “EP”. Before that we get to hear the single “Define Me” where he shows us a very smooth electro soul, call it indie R’nB if you like. Humble, creative, naked. In the Autumn he released the first single, the more intense “Born Was the Revolution”, a quite interesting song that you shouldn’t miss. He writes that he gets his inspiration from artists like D’Angelo and Tracy Chapman and together with the producer Martin Johan-Lo they turn this into their own version of emotional soul.
Johan Agebjörn continues to show us songs from his forthcoming album “Notes” (release 10/2). Today he’s releasing the single “You Passed Through” where he have collaborated with the Canadian band Young Galaxy. From the start it’s the same retro-seventies’ vibe as in the earlier “The Boy Who Thought It Was A Good Idea To Cry“, but which heads off in a different direction with the beautiful, dreamy vocals from Young Galaxy. The somg is being released together with an interesting remix from Memoryhouse.
Furthermore, a few days ago he uploaded “Careful”, also taken from the “Notes” record, this time a song collaboration together with Sally Shapiro. “The vocals were recorded in 140 bpm but were slowed down to 70 bpm to get a draggy feeling” he writes.
