Light in Your Life

Light In Your LifeIn September I wrote about Sleazy Romance, and they were really appreciated by visitors here on Meadowmusic. I mentioned then that they were planning a new album, and now, finally, it’s on it’s way. Nowadays they call themselves Light in Your Life.

From this week you can listen to the entire album on their Myspace page, and the album is officially released on the 19th of June. It’s a really nice listen, and it feels like a solid album. Reflecting, soft and beautiful indie rock.

Here’s a taste of the record with the two first singel tracks from “Light in Your Life”:

Klara Kazmi

Klara KazmiAs the summer went into hiding for a moment, at least here in Sweden, it’s nice to listen to some music that reminds us of warmer seasons. An Klara Kazmi can really deliver this, along with a lot of joy and inner warmth.

She has a smooth nice voice, reminding a little of Macy Gray. Her soul is often mixed with a backbeat, that shouts out summer. Luckily for us she has an EP out now, “Quest For Klarity”, which is also free for download on her web site. You can also meet Klara Kazmi on Myspace.

Sumie

SumieI’m listening to Sumie and it’s almost impossible to stop. Her low voice somehow gets inside of me and gets all my attention. So soft, so pleasant and with simple melodies that just feel right. It would have been easy to compare Sumie with contemporary singer/songwriters like for example Sophie Zelmani, but my thoughts and feelings go to artists from the past, and often to a young Joni Mitchell.

I think this is really nice to listen to. Try for yourself by listening to the two tracks below, and download if you like. On Sumie’s Myspace page you’ll find more music. And don’t miss watching the beautiful video to “All the Ugly”, created by Yusuke Nagano.

Commit a Crime

Commit a CrimeThere has been too little hardcore metal here on Meadowmusic and of course, some of it depends on that I don’t listen that much to this genre. But Commit a Crime is a band that I liked from the start. We are talking here about a musical area where bands like Slipknot and In Flames roam.

And Commit a Crime has definitely nothing to be ashamed of. Heavy and dark like an intro to the next Terminator movie. Well produced and with a rock feeling with a drive so I feel it in my stomach. A brutal discharge as the band says. Last autumn they released their debut EP “Commit a Crime”.
