The last time I wrote about John Duva, a little more than half a year ago, they were just about to release an EP, when they signed with the label Transsubstans. They changed the goal to release a full length album instead, and last month it was finally launched.

If you have liked them before, you will hardly be disappointed now. Here they perfect their route to raw, punk-influenced garage rock with lyrics in both Swedish and English, and you can listen to and download the song “Arbetsnarkomaner” (“Workaholics”) here below.

Arbetsnarkomaner

The main influence for The Grand New Wrong is the grunge era with the prominent figures Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam et al. And this is also evident when you listen to the band’s latest EP “Seconds”, which was released last year. “Seconds” is their second EP, and a new single is also on it’s way; a single you can listen to on their site.

The bass player Björn Granat tells me that the band name had been on his mind even before the band was formed. The Grand New Wrong stands for his view that a lot of things that before were part of the standard values like solidarity, compassion, real music and more, nowadays is considered to be taboo, wrong and abnormal.

Trails

Normally William Hamparsomian plays and writes music in the band Another Nation’s National Anthem. Last year he started writing music on his own and created the project Dream Curtain to have an outlet for these songs.

Here it’s about a dreamy electronica, somewhat lo-fi and far from the band’s guitar driven, alternative rock. He tells that the music is created spontaneouly at the spur of the moment, and that it’s difficult to remember what he thought about when he created it, and that applies to the artist name as well. But now afterwards he finds the word combination quite fitting with the curtain as something to hide behind and the music that is derived from the dreams, from the subconsious mind.

Motorist

The trio Vidar, hailing from Karlstad, released their debut EP “Yet” last year. They serve an acoustic americana inspired by Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver, with nice vocal harmonies, earthy, simple arrangements and a bunch of good songs.

What Did I Know

Now we in Bus Stop Dreams have released our third single, “Come Together” (and no, it’s not a Beatles cover). There are two songs, written by Lasse Thomasson and Pär Enqvist respectively, treating the same subject but from two different perspectives. “A dystopian group cuddle” we call it.

The singer on the title track is Andreas Lundgren and on the second song “Let Us Light a Fire” Ulla Wrethagen is singing.
