Another Nation’s National Anthem have released their first song since the EP EP:n “Conscious Castle” in 2010. It’s called “Caliban”, a piece of ambient, dreamy rock.
The punk band Tiger Bell released their EP “Slaughter’s Daughter” last month, a record full of fast, garageband-sounding melodic rock. Here’s a taste from the EP with the title track. Great song!
The song “Slaughter’s Daughter” came about as Tiger Bell stumbled upon the roller derby team with the same name, googled their home page, became seriously inspired, grabbed the guitars and wrote down the song on a piece of paper – like if it was there all the time waiting to be written.
The rock trio New Rose released their debut album “Tracklist Within” in 2011; an album they now want to revive by sharing the single “Case Sensitivity”. And I’m happy for that, because I wouldn’t have liked to miss this song. The simple starting guitar riff hits me immediately and grabs me with it’s hooks. The song sort of twitches and sparkles with energy, like it wants to break it’s shackles and fly away, as it playfully rolls along on guitar layers that breathes of the sixties, power pop and indie rock.
Nude Party!, hailing from Malmö, launched a sneak preview today of a song from their upcoming 5-track EP (release May 5th). “Indie” is the name of the song, and indie it is, of a playful pop kind with tender glances towards the sixties, the garage and the warm-up party.
Silverarken served us the soulful singele “Dancing to the Thought of You” in the Autumn. Last month they released another song, “Microscopic Subway Line”, a likewise soft ballad, beautiful and playful, full of eighties’ plops.
